Foreign Mission Drive

January 4, 2012

Dear Pastor,

Greetings in the name of our beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ!

This communication serves two purposes: first, to personally thank all the Churches, the Pastors and the members who have already contributed to the Foreign Mission Drive.

Secondly, to appeal to those who have not made a contribution to support the Mission work in foreign land. Your support is greatly needed today.

I understand that in the past, National Capital’s report to the National board would be made much later in the year.  However, during the upcoming Winter Board Meeting in Nashville, our National President, Dr. Julius R. Scruggs will convene a meeting with all state representatives on restructuring the NBC Foreign Mission Board.  In keeping with the way National Capital operates, I am hoping to represent NCBC with a check of no less than $10,000.  As of today, we have not achieved this goal.  Therefore, I encourage your immediate response if we would be able to show our support at the meeting the week of January 16.

Keep in mind Pastor, although we have asked churches to contribute $1,000 or more, whatever amount you can afford will be highly appreciated and put us that much closer to our goal.

Gifts from local Baptist conventions and churches have been critical in providing the funding necessary to keep National Baptist field operations active. In spite of the economic stench that affects us here at home, I hope that you will favorably consider making a gift of $1,000 or whatever you are able to give, by January 11 to help ensure that the work—YOUR work—in foreign land continues.

For your convenience, your contributions (made payable to NCBC) can be sent, via postal mail to the attention of Mrs. Peggy Carter Wallace, NCBC Treasurer, P.O. Box 72, Lanham, MD 20703-0072.

We are truly grateful for your support in NCBC’s endeavor to help continue the good work in foreign land.

For the cause of Christ,

Reverend Freddie Davis
