Dear Valued NCBC Pastor and Congregation,
It is with great joy and excitement that I greet you in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  As we continue in the excitement and enthusiasm that was so much a part of our Annual Session, I want to remind you of our Joint Convention Foreign Mission Day to be held at the Missionary BaptistMinisters' Conference of Washington, D.C. and Vicinity hosted at one of our great convention churches, the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church on Monday, December 11th at 12:30 in the afternoon.  Our illustrious former Foreign Mission Chairman, the Reverend Freddie Davis is our host pastor.
On this day we will have the pleasure of giving to the bedrock of our Convention, both nationally and locally, which is our Foreign Mission. We have a rich legacy of giving that we must continue to uphold and equally I am determined to move forward.  To that end, I am asking that every National Capital Baptist Church be represented by either the pastor or designated officer with a gift from your church that is equal to, and prayerfully more than what was given last year or in years past.  We are also asking that each pastor give $100.00 to the cause of Foreign Mission as well.
As I stated at our annual session, we are living in a more connected global society.  That which is "foreign"may not be as far away as we think.  It is our responsibility in light of so many global disasters and emergencies to respond with our best gift.  We would want someone to do the same for us in our time of need.
On Monday, December 11, 2017 I am also asking that all that are able would represent our convention by somehow including our convention colors (royal blue and gold) in your attire.  If you are unable to do so, that is fine, we value your presence and want you there regardless.  The National Capital Baptist Convention under the leadership of our president, Reverend Charles W. McNeill, is strong and committed.  We want that to be evident to all.
Checks may be made payable to NCBC and either mailed to my attention at Purity Baptist Church and Urban Center, 1325 Maryland Avenue, NE, Washington, D.C. 20002 prior to the service or brought with you to the Foreign Mission Annual Day on Monday, December 11, 2017 to be presented at the appropriate time in the program.
I am depending on you to maintain our rich heritage of giving and to display the strength of who we are to this city and nationally.  Thank you in advance for responding to the clarion call of our Lord to give that others might be better.
Fulfilling the work of Foreign Mission,
Robin A. Toogood, II
