Mount Airy Church Significant Damage

April 3, 2017

Our Church building sustained significant damage, as a result of a strong storm this afternoon. We are truly most grateful that all staff members are safe. The roof experienced significant damage which also resulted in damage to various offices and classrooms. The Fire Department responded today to make an initial assessment and concluded that access to the building should be restricted until further assessments can be made. One of those further assessments will be made tomorrow (Friday) morning, at which time further actions will be determined.

At this moment until we receive the full scope of the damage, all activities scheduled at the Church for Friday and Saturday will be rescheduled. Regarding Sunday Services please check your emails, cell phone texts, our church website, Facebook and Television Stations for updates daily or as needed.

From experience we know that our God is a prayer answering God, particularly in times of adversity. Beloved, this is a time of adversity for the Mount Airy Baptist Church. But God has promised to never leave us nor forsake us. He has promised to be a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Even in the aftermath of devastation caused by an unexpected storm, we acknowledge and proclaim, "Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us." On the other side above dark clouds, the sun shines brightly.

Tomorrow is a new day and in it I believe the Lord will help us "Discover New Possibilities."
