Morning Star Baptist Church
MORNING STAR BAPTIST CHURCH was founded in 1907 by Reverend R.L. Bailey,
and seven dedicated and praying people in an old house in Foggy Bottom, Georgetown , near 24th and F Streets.
The little congregation, originally named “Baker’s Hill Mission”, now officially
named the Morning Star Baptist Church , constructed and paid for their first
building which was located in the twenty hundred block of C Street in NW
Washington. Reverend Bailey pastored Morning Star until he was called from
labor to reward in 1915.
