Founded in 1844, the District of Columbia Baptist Convention is the district's oldest American religious convention.  The President, Annette James, has led the organization since 2000.

National Baptist Convention

Founded in 1886, the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. (Convention) is the nations oldest and largest African American religious convention with an estimated membership of 7.5 million.  The National President, Reverend Dr. William J. Shaw, has led the organization since 1999.
